Job Description

LaRoma Yachts operates luxury term charters out of the Bahamas aboard a 67-foot sailing catamaran. We host groups of up to 12 guests on all-inclusive charters lasting up to 7 days, delivering an unforgettable experience on the water. We are looking for a talented, self-directed chef to join our crew and take full ownership of the galley.

The Role

You will be the sole chef on board, responsible for planning, provisioning, and preparing all meals for up to 12 guests per charter. Our clientele is primarily American and Canadian, and they expect generous, satisfying portions of familiar Western cuisine elevated with a personal touch. You must be comfortable working within a set provisioning budget while still delivering a high-quality dining experience every single day.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and prepare three meals per day plus snacks and appetizers for up to 12 guests

  • Develop rotating menus tailored to guest preferences, dietary restrictions, and allergies

  • Provision all food and supplies within a defined per-charter budget, managing vendor relationships and sourcing in the Bahamas

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary galley at all times in compliance with health and safety standards

  • Manage food storage, inventory, and waste to minimize spoilage on multi-day charters

  • Coordinate meal timing with the captain and crew to align with the daily charter itinerary

  • Create an elevated but approachable dining experience that wows guests and drives 5-star reviews

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a yacht chef, private chef, or high-volume catering chef (yacht charter experience strongly preferred)

  • Expert-level provisioning skills: ability to plan, source, and budget for full charters of up to 7 days for 12 guests

  • Strong command of Western/American comfort cuisine: steaks, grilled seafood, BBQ, hearty breakfasts, fresh salads, pastas, and crowd-pleasing desserts

  • Comfortable cooking generous, large-format portions — our guests are not looking for tasting menus

  • Ability to accommodate common dietary needs (gluten-free, dairy-free, vegetarian, allergies) without compromising quality

  • Experience working in a compact galley environment with limited storage and equipment

  • Valid passport with no restrictions for Bahamas entry

  • Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work closely with a small crew in a live-aboard setting

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Bahamian suppliers and provisioning logistics

  • Cocktail and beverage preparation skills

  • Experience with fishing and preparing fresh catch on board

  • Social media-friendly plating and presentation skills (we love sharing galley content!)
