About the role
The Chef is responsible for all aspects of food during a sea voyage crew on Maple Leaf for 8 guests and 5 crew including provisioning, meal design, cooking and stowage.
The Chef demonstrates the highest level of cuisine standards to create an authentic, memorable, authentic west-coast dining experience for our international guest clientele.

Qualifications, knowledge and skills expected
Qualifications required:
· Food Safe
· Serving It Right
· Valid Marine Medical Exam
· Must be able to enter the United States and Canada
· Must have a valid passport
Minimum Qualifications:
· Red Seal or Equivalent
· Wine Knowledge & Experience
· Knowledge & Experience in local sustainable seafood
· Minim 5 years’ Experience as Sole Chef
· Knowledge & Experience with MS Excel, IOS Operating Systems
- Boat experience preferred
Compensation and Benefits
· Competitive daily rate for marine ecotourism, competitive with remote operations, gratuities
· Meals and shared accommodations will be provided while aboard, and transportation to and from the vessel from major coastal centers will be provided during the expedition season, with paid travel and preparation time
· Pro-deal relationships are available for crew with gear and equipment product lines that support Maple Leaf Adventures

Work Hours –full-day work, 7 days a week while aboard. Shifts are typically 1 month approx. at a time, with a roughly equal amount of time off. Occasional excursions may be possible at the Captain’s discretion when trips are not full.

Built in Vancouver in 1904, with a pedigree as a luxury yacht and a tough long-liner. Maple Leaf accommodates 8 guests in semi-private double sleeping areas, with 3 shared heads with showers. Comfortable, and the spirit of adventure.
